Field Notes on Fleeting Luck
Field Notes on Fleeting Luck
Field Notes on Fleeting Luck is a visual investigation of magical thinking and the notion of luck.
Already from the beginning of times, people have looked for a way to improve their fortune. Although the world today might feel rational and disenchanted, magical thinking – standing somewhere between science, religion and technology – will never disappear.
It goes beyond just lucky amulets – magical thinking is how we use symbols, how we value things; how we translate the very nature of the world, both visible and invisible.
We are extremely sentimental beings and this is an ever-present, intimate part of the human experience.
